SONG MEANING

Alfa and Yanomi paint a cinematic summer evening where rosy skies, mosquito bites and butterflies-in-the-stomach collide with the sting of a breakup. The singer wanders through Genoa imagining it as the party island of Formentera, yet every beautiful scene is tinted by the absence of the person he still loves. Phone galleries overflow with “stupid photos,” drinks flow in an attempt to forget, and memories hit like a “punch in the stomach.” Head literally in the clouds and figuratively lost in daydreams, he longs for a place called home but feels the weight of nostalgia pulling him back.

The chorus of non mi va (it doesn’t suit me) captures his refusal to accept the season finale of their story. He lists everything that “doesn’t go” – from her blue-eyed jabs to the fact they lost together while she “won” alone. In the end he masks the goodbye with a casual “dai, ci sentiamo” (come on, we’ll talk), adding a bittersweet “minus” to the words ti amo. The song is a melodic snapshot of youthful love caught between dazzling sunsets and approaching storms, showing how hard it is to let go when your head stays in the clouds but your heart is stuck in yesterday.
