Feel that warm breeze already? “Faz O Verão Chegar” is a sunny love anthem where Calema paints a picture of two people itching for the season of endless days and barefoot walks on the beach. The singer’s suitcase is packed, the sand is calling, and every step in the lyrics hints that destiny is just around the corner. He asks only one thing: if life gets messy, let’s bookmark our romance and press play again as soon as summer shows up.

Beneath the catchy chorus lies a simple but charming message. Summer isn’t just a time of year, it is the temperature of their love. Until that heat arrives, longing grows stronger, turning distance into sweet anticipation. When the sun finally rises on their reunion, he promises to tie their hearts together and become “the happiest” in her arms. In other words: keep the faith, keep the suitcase ready, and let love make the seasons change.

Calema are a duo of two brothers, António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira, from São Tomé and Príncipe who are now based in Portugal. Their name refers to the powerful swell of the ocean along the African coast.

After winning a national music competition back home in 2008, the brothers moved to Portugal to study and build their careers, and they were soon championed by the singer Anselmo Ralph. Blending kizomba, zouk and Afro-pop, their warm, romantic sound has made them one of the most popular acts singing in Portuguese. "A Nossa Vez" became a huge hit, ending 2017 as the most-watched non-Brazilian Portuguese-language music video on YouTube and going on to gather tens of millions of views. Today they are celebrated across the Portuguese-speaking world for their heartfelt love songs.
