respondoI respond / I answer

Respondo means "I respond" or "I answer." While it might seem like a common word, its use in this song is particularly impactful and sets the tone for the entire track.

The phrase "No respondo" (I don't respond / I won't be responsible for my actions) is repeated, indicating a desperate plea. The singer is warning their lover that if they leave again, they cannot guarantee their own emotional stability or actions, making it a dramatic and memorable hook.

"No Respondo Pt. 2" is a plea from someone who has already been left once and is terrified it's about to happen again. The singer begs their partner not to walk out, admitting they've made the same mistake before ("I know I did it again, how was I so stupid?") and confessing they don't know how to live without their love.

The lyrics lean into that dependency: without their partner's warmth, light and even their scent, the singer says they don't feel like themselves. Each chorus circles back to the same fear, that this could really be the end, which is why the title's promise not to respond reads less like indifference and more like someone bracing for heartbreak by pretending in advance that it won't hurt.
