SONG MEANING

“Aguante” by Colombian artist Feid captures the bittersweet push and pull between heartbreak and nightlife. The singer hits the streets on his motorbike, flanked by “gángsters” and “maleantes” dripping in diamonds, determined to erase the image of an ex from his phone. VIP tables, endless Hennessy, flashing lights, and a parade of admirers promise distraction, yet every bottle popped is really a toast to forgetting the one who still lives rent-free in his mind.

The word “aguante” means “support” or “backup,” and that is exactly what Feid’s crew provides. They hype him up, drown out his thoughts with bass and bravado, and give him permission to play the rock-star role. Despite the swagger—new flings every weekend, luxury cars, and designer kicks—the lyrics reveal a vulnerable core: he is “tomando para olvidarme de ti,” drinking to forget you. The song swings between celebration and confession, showing how even the loudest party can’t fully muffle a lingering love.
