SONG MEANING

Amarillo turns the color of sunshine into a bittersweet symbol of compromise and self-discovery. Joaquina sings about a love that once made her swap her favorite blues and reds for the yellow her partner adored. She moved cities, memorized his routines, and imagined a future in his hometown, yet the relationship left her feeling like a ghost in his apartment, watching someone else dance where she used to stand.

Realizing her dreams are “un poco más grandes,” she rolls the car windows down, lets the wind hit her face, and repeats the mantra “todo cae por su propio peso.” The song celebrates the moment you decide to stop fitting into someone else’s palette and start painting life in your own colors. It is a heartfelt farewell to a traditional life she could never embrace, and an empowering anthem for anyone learning to let go, grow, and choose themselves first.
