SONG MEANING

Otra Mentira is Óscar Maydon’s bittersweet anthem about being trapped in a cycle of charming smiles and little lies. Over a lively regional-Mexican groove, the singer explains that every new excuse is “otra mentira” that slowly overflows his patience; yet when she flashes that “carita linda,” he still lets it slide. The track paints the exhausting push-and-pull of a relationship where forgivable fibs pile up until they hurt more than an outright betrayal.

Even so, his devotion runs deep. Maydon admits that he could have movie star Megan Fox standing right in front of him and he still wouldn’t trade the small intimacies his lover offers—like running her fingers through his hair. The song swings between humor and heartbreak: from joking comparisons to Hollywood to waking up to a “almohada muy fría.” In the end he pleads, “Deja de mentir y ve a que la vida siga,” asking her to drop the deceit so life can move forward. It is a catchy confession packed with vivid Spanish phrases about love, lies, and the stubborn hope that a final chance might still be worth it.
