CONTENTS SUMMARY
J'ai Demandé À La Lune (I Asked The Moon)
J'ai demandé à la lune
Et le soleil ne le sait pas
Je lui ai montré mes brûlures
Et la lune s'est moquée de moi
I asked the moon
And the sun doesn't know it
I showed her my burns
And the moon laughed at me

“J’ai Demandé À La Lune” is a bittersweet midnight confession. The singer turns to the moon for advice about a fading romance, revealing his brûlures (emotional scars) and getting only quiet mockery in return. Celestial bodies replace human friends: the moon answers with indifference, the sun is clueless, and the sky itself looks gloomy. This cosmic dialogue highlights the narrator’s loneliness while hinting that he already knows the truth – the relationship was “just an adventure” that was never meant to last.

Under the gentle, lullaby-like melody, Indochine paints a picture of self-doubt and irony. The singer imagines the worst, admits he has little to say that could make his partner laugh, and recognizes how even hope can hurt. The song’s power lies in its contrast: soft, dreamy music carrying raw, relatable feelings of rejection. By the end, the moon’s cold answer forces the narrator – and the listener – to accept that sometimes the universe simply shrugs at our heartache.

Un Été Français (A French Summer)
Encore
Un jour dans ma vie
Où je n'ai pas envie
De rester en place
Again
A day in my life
when I don't feel like
staying put

“Un Été Français” captures the feeling of being stuck in a colorless routine and craving a burst of life. As the lyrics march from Monday to Friday, the singer feels weighed down by an “infernal” country, broken promises, and a national chill that freezes any sense of possibility. In the middle of this daily grind, he daydreams about an ideal French summer: cloud-watching on rooftops, lightning illuminating a friend’s face, and star-filled nights where worries melt away.

The song is both a personal escape fantasy and a subtle social comment. Indochine paints modern France as a place where time drags and obligations never end, yet the chorus insists on hope. The imagined summer becomes a symbol of freedom, friendship, and youth—reminding us that even when life feels gray, we can still look up, spot the flying fish in the sky, and believe that nothing bad can touch us, at least for the length of a song.

Les Nouveaux Soleils (The New Suns)
Allez viens faire un adieu
À la fin de nos ennemis
Allez viens faire un aveu
Au début d'autre vie
Come on, say goodbye
To the end of our enemies
Come on, make a confession
At the start of another life

Ever dreamed of leaving everything behind and starting a brand new life? That's the heart of Indochine's song, "Les Nouveaux Soleils," which means "The New Suns." It's a powerful invitation to say goodbye to the past, your "enemies," and step into a completely different future. The singer asks someone to join them on an adventure through forests, rivers, and lights. It’s a journey into the unknown, but with a hopeful promise: everything will be fine.

This song is also a beautiful celebration of partnership and commitment. It's about two people deciding to write their own story together, facing challenges and celebrating victories side by side. The lyrics, "Tu m'as dis oui / Je te suis sans regret" ("You said yes to me / I follow you without regret"), show a deep trust. Together, they plan to create "the time of new suns" and live as "new mortals," embracing a future filled with mystery, nature, and a life they build for themselves.

Seul Au Paradis (Alone In Paradise)
It is today that I am leaving, that I leave without me
I would expect somewhere, you will join me
I remember everything and remember you
But it will be too late

Indochine's "Seul Au Paradis" is a really moving song about a journey, but not just any journey—it's a departure from life itself. I leave, I leave without myself], suggesting a separation from their earthly self. It's a bittersweet farewell, as they promise, "Je m'attendrais quelque part, tu m'y rejoindras" [I'll wait for you somewhere, you'll join me there].

Even though it's about leaving, there's a strong sense of hope and enduring love. The singer imagines being "seul au paradis" [alone in paradise], where "Il fera beau / Le temps qui brille" [It will be beautiful / The shining weather]. But even in paradise, they're waiting, declaring, "Je n'attendais que quelqu'un comme toi" [I was only waiting for someone like you] and "C'est pour la vie, ma vie est à toi" [It's for life, my life is yours]. It's a beautiful, almost defiant declaration of love that transcends even death, promising, "Je t'attendrai seul au paradis" [I'll wait for you alone in paradise].

Le Garçon Qui Rêve (The Boy Who Dreams)
Nous étions beaux
Tous les oiseaux s'écartaient devant notre ciel
Garçons perdus, silence de plomb
Crochet pendu sur le pont
We were beautiful
All the birds moved before our sky
Lost boys, lead silence
Hit hanging on the bridge

Indochine's "Le Garçon Qui Rêve" [The Boy Who Dreams] is such a beautiful, dreamy song that really pulls you into its world. It feels like a conversation, or maybe even a plea, from someone who wants to escape reality with a loved one. The lyrics talk about being "beaux" [beautiful] and how "Tous les oiseaux s'écartaient devant notre ciel" [All the birds moved aside before our sky], which paints this picture of a powerful, almost magical connection.

There's this repeated question, "Pourquoi oui pourquoi tu ne m'embrasses pas?" [Why yes why don't you kiss me?], which really highlights a longing for intimacy and a shared journey. They imagine flying "Sur les nuages, main dans la main" [On the clouds, hand in hand] and seeing "Toutes les sirènes sur les plages" [All the mermaids on the beaches]. It's all about this fantastical escape, hoping the other person will believe in it too, asking, "Est-ce que tu sauras n'aimer que toi et moi?" [Will you know how to love only you and me?]. It's a sweet, hopeful song about wanting to share a dream-like existence with someone special.

L'amour Fou (Mad Love)
Quand tu t'endors le soir
Moi je pense à tes
Cauchemars
Tu m'appelleras la nuit
When you fall asleep at night
I think about your
Nightmares
You'll call me at night

"L’amour Fou" invites you into a dream-like night where fears melt away and love becomes a magical rescue mission. The narrator speaks to someone who is haunted by nightmares, promising to appear on a cheval de bois (wooden horse) or a flying carpet the moment panic creeps in. Through these child-like images, Indochine paints love as an imaginative refuge: a place where missed moments can be reclaimed and every “monster under the bed” is chased off by unwavering affection.

At the heart of the chorus—« C’est la nuit … c’est la vie »—lies a simple reminder: night and life share the same ebb and flow of fear, wonder, and tenderness. Rather than denying darkness, the song accepts it, offering reassurance: “Ça va aller … ne t’inquiète pas.” In just a few lines, Indochine turns the unsettling quiet of night into a playground of devotion, showing that “mad love” means standing guard over someone’s dreams and turning even their deepest worries into an adventure.

En Route Vers Le Futur (On the Way to the Future)
On the way to the future me, I'm ready for you
On the way to Mercury and search for your way
I am ready for once again
I am ready for the next time

Indochine's "En Route Vers Le Futur" is all about leaving the past behind and embracing what's next. The lyrics, "En route vers le futur moi, je suis prêt pour toi" (On the way to the future, I am ready for you) and "Le passé n'existe plus, les souvenirs ont disparu" (The past no longer exists, memories have disappeared), really drive home this idea of a fresh start. It's like the singer is tired of old stories and the way things used to be, saying, "Je suis las, oui des contes anciens" (I am tired, yes, of ancient tales) and "Je suis las du monde à la fin" (I am tired of the world in the end).

This song feels like a call to adventure, a desire to move forward with someone special. Lines like "Prends-moi la nuit encore une fois / Avec un nouveau cerveau" (Take me for the night one more time / With a new brain) and "On partira à l'aventure, vers des nouveaux futurs" (We will go on an adventure, towards new futures) show a longing for new experiences and a willingness to ignore what's coming, as in "Et ignorer notre avenir" (And ignore our future). It's a really cool anthem for anyone ready to dive headfirst into the unknown, celebrating new beginnings and the thrill of the present moment: "On est dans la vie maintenant / On marchera devant" (We are in life now / We will walk ahead).

La Belle Et La Bête (Beauty And The Beast)
Soyons des anges
Des anges exigeants
Des gouttes d'eau
Dans l'océan
Let's be angels
Demanding angels
Drops of water
In the ocean

“La Belle et la Bête” sweeps you into a twilight world where halos mix with eyeliner. Indochine sprinkles the lyrics with images of angels, ocean droplets, handsome boys, and girls on secret missions, hinting that we are all fragile and fearless at the same time. The song feels like walking through a mirror: one side shimmers with innocence, the other crackles with danger.

In the chorus the singer flips from miracle to menace, claiming he can “walk on water” before confessing he might be the devil himself. Beauty stands for hope and the loved one who may still be watching “from above,” while the Beast embodies the inner chaos that begs not to fall from grace. By the end, the dream-pop tale invites us to embrace both sides of the coin—because believing in a future “even more beautiful” is the real act of courage.

Ma Vie Est À Toi (My Life Is Yours)
We were only a target extended at close range
We just wanted to stay alive and hide
We were only overwhelmed by vultures
We love the first days

Indochine's "Ma Vie Est À Toi" is a powerful song about survival and finding hope in a desperate situation. The lyrics paint a stark image of people who are targets, "Nous n'étions qu'une cible étendue à bout portant" [We were just a target spread out at point-blank range], just trying to stay alive and hide from "vautours" [vultures]. It sounds like a war zone, with "snipers et des pleurs" [snipers and tears], and the singer even imagines lying under flowers.

But then, everything changes when someone special arrives. "Tu es venue près de moi, ton cœur qui bat" [You came near me, your heart beating], and this person says everything the singer dreamed of. It's a plea for a second chance, to be beautiful, to be a hero, and ultimately, to give everything: "Ma vie est à toi" [My life is yours]. It's a really moving journey from despair to absolute devotion, all because of one person.

Nos Célébrations (Our Celebrations)
I'm like a story that won't ever end
I archive the lost paradise
Will it go on
And who made us believe we wouldn't make it

“Nos Célébrations” feels like a neon-lit parade through life’s highs and lows. Indochine sings as a timeless storyteller who has “archived paradise lost,” yet still chooses hope over despair. The lyrics move from self-doubt to fierce determination, turning personal chaos into a shared festivity where we protect our identities, remember our dreams and refuse to let the world tear us down. By declaring “Je suis la fille, je suis le garçon,” the band embraces every shade of human experience, inviting listeners of any gender or background to march along.

At its core, the song is an anthem of resilience and unity. Against a backdrop of pounding drums and soaring synths, the narrator pledges eternal love and loyalty—“Moi je t’aimerai encore… jusqu’à ma mort”—while urging us to keep only what is beautiful, to “save our skin” and our name, and to transform mistakes into moments worth celebrating. Whether you’re dancing under the moon or facing the entire world alone, “Nos Célébrations” reminds you that life is a continuous celebration of who we are, who we love and the unbreakable hope that carries us forward.

It's during the civil war
That I'd go die to the swans' song
Dance in the city of girls
This city that doesn't exist

Indochine invites us into a surreal battlefield where love, loss, and rebellion swirl together. Le Chant Des Cygnes (The Swan Song) paints the picture of a narrator who chooses to “die to the swan song” amid a civil war while dreaming of a mystical “ville des filles”, a city that doesn’t exist. Through vivid images of torn bodies, withered flowers, and charging bulls, the song blurs reality and fantasy to express the chaos of both external conflict and internal turmoil. The narrator longs for companionship ("I would need no one except you") yet insists on facing this dream-like odyssey alone, highlighting both vulnerability and defiance.

At its core, the track is a call to resilience. The refrain lists “les salauds, les héroïnes, des guerrières, des orphelines” (the scoundrels, heroines, warriors, and orphans), reminding us that every kind of person is swept into the storm. Over pounding drums and soaring synths, Nicola Sirkis repeats “Sois forte, plus forte encore” (“Be strong, even stronger”), turning the swan song into a rallying cry. The message is clear: in a world shattered by violence and disillusionment, strength and love can still bloom, even if only in the imaginary city where our hopes take refuge.

Gloria
À l'assaut des jardins
Ambre et diamant, plus beaux
Que jamais l'absolue
Nécessité
Storming the gardens
Amber and diamond, more beautiful
Than ever, the absolute
Necessity

Have you ever felt a love so powerful it felt dangerous? Indochine's "Gloria" is an epic song about exactly that. It paints a picture of a passionate, all-or-nothing romance. The singer describes their partner's incredible beauty and a bond so powerful they are "strong as kings." But this isn't a simple love story. There's a constant feeling of risk, a fear of separation, and even death. It’s about loving someone so much that you're willing to face any danger together, captured in the intense line, "I want to die with you."

The song is also beautifully bittersweet. It explores the painful side of such a deep connection, like a kiss that can both unite and separate. The singer makes a promise to wait forever, but there's a sense that this love might be a memory. The final chorus, singing "Gloria / To our ghosts," feels like a tribute. It’s a way of honoring a past relationship or a moment in time, keeping its memory safe and sound. "Gloria" is a powerful anthem about a love so real and intense that it will never truly be gone.

Oh Sanna
Ils vont te jeter un sort
Comme Marie sur la croix
Alors on ira danser
Sous les pluies
They're gonna cast a spell on you
Like Mary on the cross
So we'll go dance
Under the rains

Indochine’s “Oh Sanna” throws us into a restless, neon-lit tale of rebellion. Society is painted as hostile spell-casters, ready to “crucify” anyone who dares to shine too brightly. References to La Maman et la Putain and “Indians in the trains” expose a world where kindness is rare and outcasts ride the margins. In this bleak landscape, Sanna blazes across the night like a meteor, and the singer invites us to dance in the rain and in the gold, defiantly celebrating life while the crowd mutters its judgments.

At its heart, the song is a vow of protection and freedom. The narrator refuses to join the chorus of condemnation, promising to follow Sanna “to the ends of the earth”. He begs her to run, stay true to herself, and never change because “they do not deserve you.” Religious imagery mingles with raw romance, turning “Oh Sanna” into both a love letter and a rallying cry for every listener who has ever felt misunderstood. It urges us to stand by our own meteors, dance through the downpour, and let the emptiness of the world burn itself out while we keep moving forward.

Sanna Sur La Croix (Sanna On The Cross)
Ils vont te jeter un sort
Comme Marie sur la croix
Alors on ira danser
Sous les pluies et sous les ors
They'll cast a spell on you
Like Mary on the cross
So we'll go dance
Under the rains and under the golds

Indochine's "Sanna Sur La Croix" feels like a fierce defense of someone named Sanna against a judgmental world. The lyrics suggest Sanna is being unfairly targeted, perhaps even

A slnko to nevie

Slovo „cas“ tu znamená prípad alebo človeka v ťažkej situácii, takže odpoveď znie chladne a absurdne.

Medzi dvojicou kedysi panovala istota, no zároveň si hovorili, že je to iba dobrodružstvo a dlho nevydrží. Teraz rozprávač nemá veľa čo povedať ani čím druhého rozosmiať, pretože si stále predstavuje najhorší možný výsledok a dokonca aj to najlepšie ho bolí. Práve v tom je sila textu: veľké otázky o láske kladie mesiacu a slnku, no odpoveď napokon zostáva bolestivo ľudská.

J'ai Demandé À La Lune (Zeptal jsem se Měsíce)
J'ai demandé à la lune
Et le soleil ne le sait pas
Je lui ai montré mes brûlures
Et la lune s'est moquée de moi
Zeptal jsem se měsíce
A slunce o tom neví

Dokonce ani obloha nevypadá dobře a on se stále nehojí.

Teď vypravěč skoro nemá co říct ani čím rozesmát druhého, protože si vždy představuje to nejhorší a i to nejlepší ho bolí.

Pitao sam mesec
A sunce to ne zna
Pokazao sam mu svoje opekotine
