Tatuado means "tattooed". While it can refer to a literal tattoo, Ivan Cornejo uses it here in a deeply metaphorical and poetic way.
He sings, "Y tatuado en tu piel / Lo que nunca se dio" (And tattooed on your skin / Is what never came to be). This powerful image suggests a past regret or a failed relationship is permanently and painfully etched onto someone, like invisible ink. It's a beautiful way to describe a memory that you simply can't escape.
Ivan Cornejo watches an ex try to party her heartbreak away in "Sale Para Ser Feliz" (She Goes Out to Be Happy). She dresses up in a black dress, paints her lips pink, and heads into the nightlife to put on a brave face. But Ivan sees right through the disguise. He notices her crying on the inside and remembers running his hands through her hair before she changed it completely, leaving him wondering who she even is anymore: "Y la mujer que tanto amé / ¿A dónde se me fue?" [And the woman I loved so much / Where did she go?].
There is no harsh judgment here because Ivan admits he has walked in those exact shoes: "Pero yo la entiendo porque he estado ahí" [But I understand her because I've been there]. The lyrics show someone trying to mask their pain by telling everyone "Que todo está bien / Cuando sabes que no" [That everything is fine / When you know it's not]. Notice how he uses the everyday shortcut "pa'" instead of "para" (in order to), which people use constantly in casual Spanish conversations. Even though she acts like she is having fun, the feeling vanishes into thin air, and Ivan stays convinced that it is only a matter of time before the wind brings her back to him.
