Clave Especial is a regional Mexican group formed in 2021 in Salinas, California, founded by cousins Alejandro Ahumada and Leonardo Lomeli and later joined by Rogelio Gonzalez. All three are the American-born sons of Mexican immigrant farmworkers, and their sound blends the traditions of norteño and banda with the modern, introspective style of corridos tumbados.
Signed to Street Mob Records and later partnered with Warner Music Latina, the trio built a fast-growing following with tracks that mix rugged storytelling with contemporary swagger, and they have collaborated with artists such as Fuerza Regida and Luis R. Conriquez. Their debut album charted on the Billboard 200 and earned a platinum Latin certification, and the group has since picked up nominations for Male Breakthrough Artist honors, cementing their place among the new generation reshaping regional Mexican music in the United States.
