Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu) Lyrics in English by Esteriore Brothers
Trapunto literally means 'quilted' or 'embroidered', often referring to a decorative stitching technique.
In the context of "Volare", it's used poetically in the phrase "cielo trapunto di stelle" (sky studded with stars). This evokes a beautiful image of the night sky, where stars are like intricate stitches on a dark fabric, making it a unique and visually rich word.
Have you ever had a dream that felt so real and wonderful you never wanted it to end? That's the feeling captured in this classic song! The singer describes a fantastic dream where he paints his hands and face blue, is swept up by the wind, and begins to fly through an infinite blue sky. He sings about the pure joy of soaring higher than the sun, watching the world disappear far below while sweet music plays just for him.
But like all dreams, this one fades with the morning light. The singer acknowledges that dreams vanish at dawn. However, he finds a new way to keep the dream alive. He continues to experience that same feeling of flying and happiness by looking into the beautiful blue eyes of someone special, which he compares to a sky full of stars. The song is a beautiful celebration of dreams, freedom, and finding that same magical feeling in love.
