Ha Nacido El Niño Lyrics in English by Los Niños Cantores De Navidad
Dichoso translates to "blissful" or "joyful." It's a beautiful and somewhat less common word than simply "feliz" (happy), carrying a deeper sense of profound happiness and blessedness.
In this traditional Christmas carol, the word is used to describe San José (Saint Joseph) as he "contempla al Dios Niño" (contemplates the Christ Child). It perfectly captures the sacred and profound joy of the moment, making it a memorable and evocative word for learners.
This beautiful song, "Ha Nacido El Niño" [The Child Is Born], is a traditional Spanish Christmas carol performed by Los Niños Cantores De Navidad. It tells the story of the birth of Jesus through the eyes of the shepherds.
The lyrics invite everyone to join the shepherds in bringing gifts of "ovejas y flores" [sheep and flowers] to the newborn child. We follow the guiding star to the stable where Mary is, and see Joseph, full of joy, watching over the baby Jesus. The song also speaks of the shepherds offering their souls to the "Dios de Israel" [God of Israel], and a line that really sticks with me is "Te entrego mi alma, mi niño Jesús" [I give you my soul, my child Jesus]. It's a sweet and heartfelt invitation to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
