Ze Houdt Van... Lyrics in English by Los Primos, €hamo
Dough is a slang term for 'money'. While it's an English word, it's used directly in the Dutch lyrics, making it an interesting and recognizable point of connection for English speakers.
In the song, the phrase "Ze doet alles voor haar Dough" (She does everything for her Dough) highlights the character's ambition and drive to earn money, even amidst her desire for partying and a lavish lifestyle. It's a catchy and relatable term that adds a modern, street-smart feel to the lyrics.
This song is all about a woman who loves the spotlight and isn't afraid to go after what she wants! "Ze houdt van Flitsende lichten, Ze doet alles voor de Show" [She loves flashing lights, She does everything for the Show] really sets the scene. She's all about the glitz and glamour, and she's willing to work hard for her money, or "Dough" as the song says.
She's a free spirit, wanting to be "vrij zijn als een Boss" [free as a Boss] and enjoy life with parties and drinks, but she's also focused on her career and dreams of traveling the world. The song warns her to "pas op Babyboo d'er zwemmen haaien in de Goot" [watch out Babyboo there are sharks in the Gutter], but she doesn't care – "Ze heeft Schijt" [She doesn't give a damn]. She's going to do what she wants, whether it's dancing on a boat in Spain or just chilling like a "fucking Boss!"
