Raum Der Zeit Lyrics in English Wizo

Below, I translated the lyrics of the song Raum Der Zeit by Wizo from German to English.
I am gay, I am Jewish
And a communist as well
I am black and disabled
But just as human as you
I am highly intelligent
And yet as dumb as sauerkraut
I am beautiful, I am ugly
I am fat and well-built
There is nothing
Nothing that makes you better than me
Because you also have your flaws
Your flaws just like me
And flaws are not wrong
They belong to you and me
And if you can't get it together
No one is to blame
You are one of billions
And you must accept that
You are one of billions of *ssholes in the world
Your values, your norms
Morality and the law
Are dispensable and replaceable
Superfluous chatter
Valid today, null tomorrow
Reversed the day after
What is right or important here
Is worthless elsewhere
Your gods, your churches
Belief, prayer, religion
Holy today, sacrilege tomorrow
Mockery the day after
And money and fame
And immortality
Upon closer inspection
Are useless
You are not the center of the universe
You are just an *sshole in the space of time
Bridge
A E D C D C A G A E D
A E D C D C A G A E D
You are not the center of the universe
You are just an *sshole in the space of time
Outro
F*ck you!

SONG MEANING

Raum Der Zeit is a fiery punk anthem that pokes a safety pin through the balloon of human ego. Wizo’s singer parades a whole checklist of identities—gay, Jewish, Black, disabled, genius, clueless, gorgeous, ugly—all at once, just to prove a single point: no label makes anyone inherently superior. Every chorus swings like a sledgehammer at self-importance, shouting that we are all flawed, ordinary specks floating in the vast “room of time.”

In typical punk fashion, the song then tears down society’s so-called pillars—morality, religion, money, even fame—showing how quickly each can flip from sacred to useless chatter. The message is equal parts rebellious and liberating: if nothing is permanent and everyone is imperfect, then prejudice is pointless and humility is the only sensible stance. The final cheeky “Fick dich!” is less an insult and more a playful nudge, daring listeners to laugh at their own vanity and join the mosh pit of equality.
