Mintiendo Lyrics in English by Dalex
“Mintiendo” (“Lying”) is about a relationship built on desire instead of trust. The couple says “Te amo” while knowing the words are false, then makes promises that disappear once the sexual encounter is over: “Cada vez que nos comemos” [Every time we hook up], “prometemos cosas que se olvidan” [we promise things that are forgotten]. Here, comerse is slang for having sex, not literally eating. They both admit that “no hay nada entre nosotros” [there is nothing between us], yet they keep returning to each other because the physical attraction is too strong to ignore.
The chorus is cheeky and deliberately repetitive: “Tú sígueme mintiendo” [Keep lying to me], “Baby, que igual te sigo comiendo” [Baby, I’ll still keep hooking up with you]. One person rolls a joint and the other lights it, adding a smoky, relaxed mood to their secret game. After they climax, everything “se enfría” [cools off], but the cycle starts again. The line “Vamos a jugar un juego / Donde tú me miente' y yo hago que te creo” [Let’s play a game where you lie to me and I pretend to believe you] says it plainly: both people know the rules, and neither wants honesty to interrupt the chemistry. Bellaqueo means sexual flirting or fooling around, so the song’s blunt humor comes from treating lies, weed, and desire as parts of the same repeated arrangement.
