Baila Conmigo Lyrics in English by Selena Gomez, Rauw Alejandro

Ganas is a special Spanish noun for 'desire' or 'urge' that doesn't have a perfect one-word equivalent in English. The common phrase tener ganas de... means 'to feel like...' or 'to be in the mood for...' something, making it incredibly useful.

In the song, the line is "No te me vayas sin las ganas de volver" (Don't leave me without the desire to come back). It's a beautiful and romantic plea that captures the song's theme of a powerful, unspoken connection. This word is key to expressing feelings like a native speaker.

"Baila Conmigo" proves that you don't need a shared vocabulary when the rhythm does the talking. Selena Gomez opens with a cheeky confession: "Bebé, no sé si hablas mucho español / Si entiendes cuando digo 'mi amor'" ("Baby, I don't know if you speak much Spanish / If you understand when I say 'my love'"). Instead of worrying about a language barrier, she and Rauw Alejandro lean into pure physical chemistry. She bluntly drops the line "Comernos sin entendernos es mejor" ("Hooking up without understanding each other is better"), telling her partner to stop overthinking ("no sigas dándole mente" ["don't keep overthinking it"]) and let the music lead the way.

As the duet heats up, Rauw adds his side of the story. He notices she is from another city, but loves his style ("le corre mi flow" ["she vibes with my flow"]), and he leaves his phone number so she can call whenever she misses him. The chorus keeps things simple and direct: "Bésame solo una vez / Así tengo un motivo para volverte a ver" ("Kiss me just once / That way I have a reason to see you again"). It is a fun, flirty anthem about closing the physical distance on the dance floor, turning a potential communication gap into the perfect excuse to get closer.
